Hey guys. I was wondering, is there anybody out there who likes Pink Floyd? I'm not just talking about the Wall here, I'm talking about there old stuff like Metal, Dark Side Of The Moon, and so on and so forth. I love Floyd. If there's anybody out there who shares my point of view, please post a reply to this topic.

Oh! That makes me happy. I love Dark Side Of the Moon and I've just recently discovered Metal. I'm going through metal withdrawls though because I can't find my Cd and I like to go to sleep to it.
I would have loved to have been able to experience Pink Floyd in concert. It's one thing to experience Floyd but it's probably quite another to experience them live.
I have Dark Side, the Wall, and Devision Bell on my hard drive. As soon as i get my cd burner up and running I would love to make my own best of Pink Floyd so i can have all my favorite songs on one cd.

I'm probably not as big a Pink Floyd fan as you but I like them. I have most of their stuff either on CD or Mp3. They would be an awesome band to see live. I can always fall asleep listening to Floyd.

I've got the limited addition pulce album, it's basically a double live cd that includes the full unabridged live version of Darkside of the moon, and also another double set I have is the wall live from Earle's cort that was done back in 1981.

I'm one of those newbies who only owns The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon. I've heard songs from other albums on the radio and I'd love to get them, especially the ones with Welcome to the Machine and that one that starts with "on the turning away..." Sorry I don't know the song, but I tried, hehe.

I like Pink Floyd, but I'm more interested in pre-Dark Side material and early rarities than anything else, as radio ahs played Dark Side and the later stuff pretty much to death. Yeah, some of it is a bit more experimental, but I enjoy it. Had most of their stuff on LP up through the Wall. Also enjoy some of Sid Barrett's stuff. Anyone ever heard the Obscured by Clouds album? For some reason I like it.

Not only have I heard that album, but I have it, and the double cd Pulce is a great one, because it covers all of their stuff live, but good luck in finding it as it was a limited addition release.

I used to think Dark side of the moon was a musical version of "the tell-tale heart." I need to obtain another copy of it though, because the one I have got scratches on it about a month or so after I bought it, and I hadn't done anything to it.
I also noticed in one of their songs they used a speech synthisizer that sounded like the dectalk synthisizer, and I've been curious as to how that was done.
I had that CD too, but I think that song was the only song I liked on it, and so I took it to a music store that takes used CD's and traded it for something else. I think the song I'm thinking of was "why don't you talk to me."

Hi, it's Shaun, and I love pink Floyd! I've got a few things downloaded from gnucleus, and I've got one of their alboms on the conputer. It's the best of pink floyd, and they used a speech synth in the beginning og that one as well. It, did not, sound like the DECtalk synth, but was kind of interesting.

I'll have to listen to it sometije, and see if I can understand it. NO luck so far... Oh well...

Well, I've got two of their alboms on cd. The wall, and wish you were here. This has welcome to the machine on it, if anyone's interested. The only strange thing about the albom was that the first track, shine on you crazy diamond, didn't save to the computer. It's nothing but 13 mins of silence!

Well, I've also got the wall saved onto my computer, and, my favorite song from that one would have to be, hey you.

Well, my favorite song from pink floyd in general is Arnald Lane. I'm not sure if it's really by them, because it sounds like a British version of them. Any advice would be apreciated as to who wrote or sang that song.

Thank you,

Src333, a.k.a. Shaun

I LOVE PINK FLOYD!!! I have many of their albums some are not that widely known. Atom Heart Mother is one of their very first ones with Ummagumma, then came Dark Side of the Moon, Wish you were Here (a classic!!!), Animals, the Wall and Momentary Lapse of Reason. I also have the one they made after the Wall (and by the way I was in Berlin when they performed the Wall at the Berlin Wall. Man that was an experince never to forget!) OK so after the Wall they made this album called The Final Cut which is probably one of the least known of their albums. It tells a story like the Wall, about a boy and his dad who was a World war 2 hero. I think it's a very cool album. I know I missed a couple of their albums, so if anyone here has a more complete collection, please post them. Thanks for posting this topic charisma.

I read once that the Speech synthasizer in that song, is the one that Steven Hawking uses to communicate. Apparently Pink Floid got him to say those things. I don't think it's the dec-talk, but something similar.

Ya I like some Floyd music but I'd love to get my hands on the Best of Pink Floyd. I'll have to go onto Barnes & Nobles website and order me a copy.

I think the song w/the synth is: Astronomy Domine on the Best of Floyd cd. Cause I'm on Barnes and Noble's website and I was able to hear a snip it of the song. And you can barely hear the synth. It sounds like a echo of some kind. Eh who knows :)

I stand corrected. The song is Keep Talking. I see a ton of tracks I like on that cd so I'm getting it lol.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned the unforgettable
COMFORTABLY NUMB thats a classic Floyd song.

"You'll feel a little prick do you feel a little sick?".

My favorite line is from the song Wish You Were Here.
Did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage.
